I guess I haven't really explained too well what's all going on. Probably because nothing has a truly set date. We keep finding more and more things wrong with the boat that need to be fixed. This hasn't changed the setting off date from around October 27, but we'll see.

Now about the boat. She's a 1978 Cascade sloop named the S/V Leeway, one of the first sailboats to be made from fiberglass. It was a very new thing at the time, so the designers weren't sure about how thick to made the hull. So what they did was take a slab of fiberglass and built it up until it couldn't be penetrated by a shot from a .38 handgun. So our boat is apparently bulletproof. It's been proven to be a speedy boat even though it has such a thick hull. A very similar model to ours won a race from San Francisco to Hawaii  a few years back.

And the situation. Currently we have to boat on the hard dock repainting the hull. The previous hull paint was flaking off so it wouldn't do. We're paying big bucks to keep this guy out of the water for these days, so we are working feverishly to do everything we need to do while it's out of the water. Soon, planning on next Wednesday, we should get her back in the water and begin to do stuff like clean the interior, replace port lights, organize, diagram the systems. There's an incredible amount of work that needs to be done but when we put our heads to it, we'll be able to finish it all in no time. It'll be a lot of work, but it will easily pay off in the end.
